If you were to pick the top three issues in the world today what would they be? If you were to make the list for the United States would it change and if so how?
1. Lack of religious freedom in non christian countries 2. Lack of interest in religious lifestyle in christian counties 3. After 162 years gospel has still not gone to all the world yet
Issues in the USA
1. crime/dishonesty in politics and government 2. over population, large pockets of poverty 3. moral standards are being violated by church organizations and those that represent them - there is no longer any public standard of conduct to which people are measured against or to which they can measure up to
"Most of all I want to see men and women, boys and girls, come to know Jesus and rejoice in the assurance of salvation."
As I lifelong Adventist Christian but growing skeptic, I probably identify with much of the unchurched world. What does it mean to "know Jesus"--an invisible being inhabiting a faraway place that doesn't speak verbally. How do we know this is not just a belief in an imaginary friend?
And what does it mean to "rejoice in the assurance of salvation"? Salvation from what or for what?
I am a curious life long seeker after truth. I am never satisfied to accept things because someone said so. I want to know Why? I am always asking questions, about myself, who I am, where am I going, what is the function of the church, especially the Adventist denomination, how can we do things better, and so on. I want to be relevant to the culture without being controlled by the culture. Most of all I want to see men and women, boys and girls, come to know Jesus and rejoice in the assurance of salvation.
